The hottest stars of Hollywood came out to party at the 71st Annual 2014 Golden Globe Awards ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at the Beverly Hilton hotel. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returned as co-hosts and kept the party going with their witty SNL style zingers and hilarious digs at everyone from George Clooney to Leonardo DiCaprio. The Fey-Poehler performance alone made the 71st Golden Globes worth watching, even before the first award was handed out.

1. Best Motion Picture – Drama: "12 Years A Slave"
12 Years a Slave, a 2013 British-American epic historical drama film is an adaptation of the 1853 memoir of the same name by Solomon Northup, a New York State-born free negro who was kidnapped and sold into slavery. Solomon worked on plantations in the state of Louisiana for twelve years before his release.
During its marketing campaign, 12 Years a Slave received unpaid endorsements by celebrities such as Kanye West and Sean Combs. It has received universal acclaim by critics and audiences and has been named as one of the best films of 2013 by various ongoing critics. Compared to critically acclaimed movies such as Schindler's List, 12 years of slave is considered to be a front runner for the 2014 Oscars.
2. Best Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical: "American Hustle"
American Hustle is a 2013 American crime comedy-drama film directed by David O. Russell and is loosely based on the FBI ABSCAM operation of the late 1970s and early '80s. It stars Christian Bale and Amy Adams as two con artists who are forced by an FBI agent to set up an elaborate sting operation on corrupt politicians, including the mayor of Camden, New Jersey.
American Hustle received seven Golden Globe Award nominations; it won for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, with Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence winning Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture respectively.
3. Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama: Cate Blanchett - "Blue Jasmine"
Cate Blanchett won her second Golden Globe award for her portrayal of Jeanette 'Jasmine' Francis in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine.
4. Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama: Matthew McConaughey - "Dallas Buyers Club"
This marks the first Golden Globe nomination & win for McConaughey, who lost 50 pounds for 'Dallas Buyers Club."
McConaughey plays an HIV-positive patient named Ron Woodroof who smuggles anti-viral medications that are not approved in the U.S. in order to survive.
5. Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical: Amy Adams - "American Hustle"
Amy Adams won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical for her role in "American Hustle," marking her first win and fifth nomination.
6. Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical: Leonardo DiCaprio - "The Wolf of Wall Street"
This is the second Golden Globe win and 10th nomination for actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
7. Best Director - Motion Picture: - "Gravity"
It was a big night for Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron, who won best director. The Mexican filmmaker joked about his thick accent when he went onstage to accept his award.

A Golden Globe send off for "Breaking Bad". The gripping drama about a teacher turned meth kingpin, "Breaking Bad," capped its celebrated final season with a win for best TV drama the 71st Golden Globes in Beverly Hills. The series was nominated last year but had never won the Globe before. The show wrapped up its run in September with a finale seen by more than 10 million total viewers.
9. Best Television Series - Comedy Or Musical: "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"
Andy Samberg's little-seen police sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine was a double winner at the Golden Globes with a best actor in a comedy win for Samberg.
